Matilda is a final-year PhD candidate at the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London. Her research is dedicated to integrating biodiversity considerations across the United Nations' system of agencies, aiming to identify gaps and opportunities for a unified approach to biodiversity and nature-based solutions. During to her doctoral studies, Matilda also worked as a Biodiversity Specialist at the Food and Agriculture Organisation's Biodiversity Mainstreaming Unit, focusing on the critical nexus between food systems, climate change, and biodiversity. With a diverse professional background, Matilda has tackled a broad range of conservation challenges, from driving behaviour change through media interventions to combating illegal wildlife trade and promoting sustainable practices. Matilda has also authored several publications in leading environmental journals including OneEarth, Nature Climate Change, People and Nature and Conservation Science and Practice and has spoken at scientific conferences including the British Ecological Society and International Congress on Conservation Science. Beyond academia, Matilda's work has captured the attention of the wider public, with features in media outlets such as The Independent.
