Open Meeting of the SDG Taskforce
Organized by Taskforce on the SDGs
Established in March 2021, the Earth System Governance Taskforce on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provides an open forum for developing and exchanging cutting-edge research and policy studies on to what extent and under what conditions governance through goals can be effective. It brings together an interdisciplinary global group of 100+ researchers and practitioners from 33 countries that engages in a diverse set of activities, such as webinar series, interdisciplinary workshops and panels at academic conferences, and joint publications with high-impact scientific journals and major university presses, to steer research efforts towards further understanding the transformative potential of governance through goal-setting. We invite all participants to the 2024 Earth System Governance Forum interested in SDGs to join the Taskforce’s annual meeting to take stock of our research efforts and brainstorm future directions and activities. The meeting will be facilitated by the Taskforce co-conveners Frank Biermann, Thomas Hickmann, Carole-Anne Sénit, and Yixian Sun.
