Dr. Ronju Ahammad

About this speaker

Ronju is an applied researcher interested in sustainability science and social-ecological system approaches. He currently holds a postdoc position at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Before that, he worked with Charles Darwin University on the situational analysis for agriculture development in northern Australia. From 2015 to 2017, he worked as a research consultant with the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) for the “Global Agrarian Change” study.

He obtained a PhD specialising in forest and agriculture systems from Charles Darwin University, Australia. He has demonstrated experience in applying the social-ecological frameworks (using a range of social and ecological tools) to address the contemporary forest and agrarian changes and social-ecological outcomes in forest-agriculture frontiers.

His works have been published in scholarly journals (Sustainability: Science, Policy and Practice; Ecosystem Services; Science of the Total Environment; Forest Policy and Economics; Coastal Conservation and Planning).

Ronju is currently engaged in the Asia Pacific working group.
