About this speaker

Matteo Roggero is a postdoc at the Resource Economics Group, Albrecht-Daniel-Thaer-Institute, Faculty of Life Sciences, HU Berlin. Grounded in social sciences, his work addresses the institutional dimension of environmental governance, with a focus on water and climate change. Matteo applies the toolbox of qualitative social research and comparative analysis to understand the drivers and barriers shaping societal responses to environmental issues and enabling the long-term survival of common-pool resources at different scales. Currently, his research focuses on climate governance in cities, tackling cities greenhouse gas emissions as well as their vulnerability to climate impacts. At IRI THESys, Matteo is part of the Water and Climate under Change (CliWaC) project.

Before joining HU Berlin, Dr. Matteo Roggero worked at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research – UFZ Leipzig as a doctoral candidate, and was involved in the TEEB project.
