About this speaker
Jasmin Logg-Scarvell is a PhD candidate in the Environmental Governance group at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. With a background in interdisciplinary approaches, sustainability and public policy in practice, Jasmin’s interests centre on the deliberation and contribution of policy elites to climate policy design and outcomes.
Jasmin's PhD candidacy forms part of the BACKLASH project led by Dr James Patterson. This project is funded for five years (2021-2026) through a Starting Grant awarded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement no. 949332). Within the BACKLASH project, Jasmin is focusing on the post-adoption politics of contentious climate policies, using Australian and Canadian climate mitigation case studies.
Jasmin holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability) and a Master of Public Policy, both from the Australian National University. She brings a decade of professional policy-making experience to the BACKLASH project, having worked as an executive in environment and climate policy roles in the Australian Public Service.
