Fariborz Zelli is Professor at the Department of Political Science at Lund University. His major research interests include global environmental governance (in particular climate change, biodiversity and forestry), institutional complexity, and the nexus between environment, human rights and security (environmental peacebuilding, environmental human rights defenders). His book publications as co-author and co-editor include Global Legitimacy Crisis (2022, Oxford University Press), Governing the Climate-Energy Nexus (2020, Cambridge University Press), Environmental Politics and Governance in the Anthropocene (2016, Routledge), the Encyclopedia of Global Environmental Governance and Politics (2016, Elgar), Global Climate Governance Beyond 2012 (2010, Cambridge University Press). He is a member of the Earth System Governance Scientific Steering Committee, and has served as chair of the environmental section of the International Studies Association, as associate editor of the Earth System Governance Journal, and as guest editor for special issues with Global Environmental Politics and Ecology and Society (forthcoming).
