About this speaker
Claudia Munera-Roldan is an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner. Her work and research focus on the interface science-policy-practice in environmental governance arrangements, co-production, and futures. Claudia is interested in applying future-oriented approaches, exploring options towards strategic thinking and collective learning to navigate global changes, considering the linkages between local communities, private and public sector initiatives to find options towards sustainable futures.
She has been involved in climate change adaptation, transformative change, environmental governance, and sustainable development projects in Latin America, Australia, and South Africa, with a variety of institutions and interdisciplinary projects. This experience has provided her with a broad perspective to understand the applicability of global trends at the local level and identifying entry points and transitions to dynamic environmental management under climate change.
Claudia has experience in qualitative research methods and conceptual frameworks for environmental governance and adaptation in natural resources management, agroindustry, and tourism. Her research addresses analysis of socio-ecological systems under uncertain and contested conditions looking at how to improve decisions and co-produce solutions considering social realities and contexts.
