Celina Scott-Buechler (she/her, they/them) is a JD-PhD candidate at the Stanford University Doerr School of Sustainability in the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program for Environment and Resources (E-IPER) and Stanford Law School. Celina studies U.S. net-zero climate policy with a focus on carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and communities in transition. Celina’s research aims to uplift community needs and experiences to inform policies that build new climate-relevant industries like renewable energy and carbon dioxide removal. An interdisciplinary, mixed-methods social scientist and policy specialist, Celina regularly collaborates with community-based organizations, environmental non-profits, federal and state agencies, and academic institutions. Celina holds a bachelor’s and master’s in earth and atmospheric sciences from Cornell University.
